Pyramid of Meidum

“Pyramid of Meidum” … that huge building located in the heart of the desert of Beni Suef Governorate, and which scholars have not yet come up with the truth of its design until today, and what was the thinking of King “Senefru”, founder of the Fourth Dynasty, who was called “the greatest Egyptian mason” when He chose this design, and was it built in this way, or was it a complete pyramid before it had a partial collapse, and was the shape of the design that the king wanted or was it just a mistake that occurred during construction, so historians see that the pyramid of Meidum will remain the mystery of the ancient Pharaonic state.

What can be raised most about the issue of building the pyramid of Meidum, which was described as a false pyramid, is the consensus of Egyptologists and archaeologists, that it was built by two kings and not one Egyptian king. The construction process began during the reign of King “Huni”, the last king of the third family, before To be completed during the reign of King “Senefru”, the founder of the Fourth Dynasty, in a complete change of the philosophy of the Subordinate Kings, who used not to complete any relics of the previous kings, but some of them were erasing those traces that were not completed.
More than six decades ago, specifically before 1430 AD, the sheikh of Egyptian and Arab historians, Taqi al-Din al-Maqrizi, described the pyramid of Meidum that it was five degrees, which made some believe that the pyramid was two degrees larger, and that an earthquake led to its collapse. Historians are likely that this collapse occurred during the advanced families after its end, and others believe that the pyramid was not completed as a result of a collapse in the outer layer during its work, and it turned into a miracle among the Egyptian pyramids.

The fact is that King “Senefru”, as historians see, completed the construction of the pyramid of Meidum because of its proximity to his seat of rule, “Gedi Snefru”, which is located near the city of Meidum, although that area was not designated before that for the royal tombs, and that Egyptian engineers chose it for its location. The highest rocky plateau summit, which made it eligible for the possibility of the pressure of a huge pyramid, in addition to its proximity to the Egyptian capital, and the plateau also includes a funerary temple, terraces, and a diagonal road leading to another temple, which was built close to the Nile River Valley, which means that it is a rich area, and a station It is highly visible and can be greatly exploited tourism.

As for the pyramid itself, it was built from seven steps, only four steps remain, and its height is 45 meters, and the entrance is located at a height of 20 meters from the surface of the earth, and leads to a corridor up to 57 meters long, then the burial chamber, and on the eastern side of The pyramid, there is the mortuary temple, and the remains of the ascending path, which used to connect between the mortuary temple and the valley temple, and the architectural style of this pyramid is called the name of the layered pyramid, and it differs from the listed pyramids, and is considered a transitional stage to the complete pyramid, and the pyramid consists of a core or A tower in the center is surrounded on all four sides by seven layers of limestone, each layer covered on the outside.
